Connecting WhatsApp lets your AI assistant answer customers on WhatsApp and lets you send broadcast messages.
You need a phone number that is NOT currently registered on the regular WhatsApp app (or one you are ready to move to WhatsApp Business Platform).
- Open Accounts from the sidebar.
/accounts
- On the WhatsApp card, press the connect button and follow the Facebook window (WhatsApp Business is managed by Meta).
- Log in, create or pick your WhatsApp Business account, and confirm your phone number with the SMS code.
- When the window closes, your number appears in Accounts as "Connected".
After connecting, check WhatsApp Health to see your sending quality and daily limit — new numbers start with a small limit that grows as you message. /whatsapp/health
Switching from another WhatsApp provider
Already using the WhatsApp Business API with another provider? You can switch to nashir and keep your number, your display name, your green badge, your quality rating, and your approved templates — with no downtime. Your customers won't notice anything change.
First, one question — who owns your WhatsApp account today, you or your current provider?
- You own it — your number lives in your own Meta Business Manager and you're an admin there. Switching is self-service: just connect WhatsApp the normal way above. When Meta sees your number is already active elsewhere, the Facebook window shows a Migrate phone number prompt — confirm it, and your number moves to nashir.
- Your provider owns it — your number sits in their business account, not yours. You'll need their help first: ask them to release your number to your own Meta Business Manager and turn off two-step verification. Once it's in your account, follow the self-service steps above.
Not sure which case you're in? Reach out and we'll check it with you.
Before you switch, make sure:
- Two-step verification (2FA) is turned off on the number at your current provider — Meta blocks the move while it's on.
- You're an admin (owner) of the Meta Business Manager that holds the number, not just someone with access.
- The account at your current provider has a valid payment method and is approved under Meta's Commerce Policy.
- You can receive the 6-digit code Meta sends to confirm the number (by SMS or call).
What comes across with your number: your display name, quality rating, green badge, daily messaging limit, and your approved templates (up to Meta's limit of 250). Your templates appear in your templates list automatically after you connect. /outbound/library
One thing to know: for a template with an image, video, or document header, the text and buttons come across, but you re-upload the header file the first time you use it — the file itself doesn't come with the number.
Anything unusual — a provider who won't release your number, or an account that isn't verified yet — reach out and we'll guide you through it.
