Install nashir on your phone and you get a notification the moment a customer messages you — even when nashir is closed. There is no app store and nothing to download: nashir installs straight from your browser, and it opens like any other app on your phone.
Installing takes about a minute. Notifications are the reason to do it, and they are switched on separately after the app is on your phone.
Requirements
- iPhone: iOS 16.4 or later
- Android: Android 10 or later
Android (Chrome)
- Open nashir.ai in Chrome.
- Tap the menu ⋮ and choose Install app — not "Create shortcut". A shortcut only opens the website again; it cannot send you notifications. If you only see "Create shortcut", scroll the menu — "Install app" is a separate item.
- Open nashir from the new icon on your home screen.
- Go to Settings → Notifications, turn notifications on, and tap Allow when your phone asks.
iPhone (Safari — Safari only)
Use Safari. Chrome and other browsers on iPhone cannot add nashir to your home screen.
- Open nashir.ai in Safari.
- Tap the Share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Open nashir from the new icon on your home screen.
- Go to Settings → Notifications, turn notifications on, and tap Allow when your phone asks.
On iPhone, notifications only work after nashir has been added to the home screen. This is Apple's rule, not ours: Safari on iPhone does not deliver notifications to an ordinary browser tab. If you turn notifications on inside a Safari tab, nothing will arrive — add nashir to the home screen first, then open it from that icon and turn them on there.
If you opened the link from inside WhatsApp or Instagram
Tapping a link inside WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or Messenger opens it in that app's own built-in browser. Those browsers cannot install nashir and cannot send notifications — on iPhone they do not even offer "Add to Home Screen".
Open nashir.ai in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) first, then follow the steps above. The quickest way is to copy the link and paste it into your browser's address bar.
What to expect once notifications are on
- A notification for every new customer message, for each agent who turned notifications on.
- If a conversation is assigned to someone, only that person is notified — assigning a conversation stops it from buzzing everyone else's phone.
- Comments do not send notifications by default. Direct messages do. You can switch comments on in Settings → Notifications, but remember comments are usually far more frequent than messages.
- You can hide the message text. If the phone is shared with staff or family, switch off "Show message text in notifications" and notifications will only say "New message". This is a workspace-wide setting and only the owner can change it.
- Telegram alerts are separate. They go to the business owner, and only for new conversations or when the bot hands a chat over. Phone notifications are per-agent and cover every new message. Turning one on or off never changes the other.
What still needs a normal browser
Two things always open outside the installed app, because they hand you over to another company's website:
- Connecting accounts — WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and the rest.
- Payment — upgrading or renewing your plan.
For those, open nashir.ai in a normal browser (Safari or Chrome) rather than the installed app. Everything else — inbox, replies, contacts, bookings, reports — works in the installed app.
If notifications stop arriving
Open Settings → Notifications on the phone. If the card says notifications have stopped on this device, tap Turn notifications back on — phones and browsers sometimes drop the connection on their own (after a long idle period, or after clearing browser data), and re-enabling takes a second. Use Send a test to confirm the phone receives it.
If notifications are blocked, the button will be greyed out and the card will say so. Allow notifications for nashir.ai in your browser's site settings, then come back and turn them on.
