Someone comments "how much?" under your post. Your bot knows the price — but a public answer puts your pricing in front of every competitor who follows you, permanently. Price protection lets the bot answer the customer properly without publishing the number.
Turn it on. Open Your AI → Setup wizard, choose your business, and go to the Voice step. In the Public comments card, switch on Keep prices and contact details out of public comments. It is off until you turn it on, and it is set per business.
What happens when it is on. When your bot's reply to a public comment contains a price, a phone number, or an email address:
- The complete answer — price included — is sent to that customer as a private message.
- The public reply is replaced with a short line telling them to check their private messages.
The customer gets the real answer. Your followers see that you responded. Nobody scrolling your comments collects your price list.
What is never withheld. Your own business phone numbers and email addresses are yours to publish — add them under Your own phone numbers and emails in the same card and the bot will keep posting them publicly. You can also rewrite the public line yourself under Customize the wording, so it sounds like your business rather than a template.
What it does not touch. A reply you write yourself is published exactly as you wrote it — protection applies only to answers the bot composes. If the private message cannot be delivered, the public reply still avoids the number and invites the customer to write to you.
Marking a single answer private
Protection is a rule for your whole business. Sometimes you want it for one specific answer instead — a wholesale price, a special discount, one product.
When you write or approve an answer, choose Private messages only under Where does this answer apply? Then, when a comment asks that exact question, the bot answers in a private message instead of publicly, and the public reply says so.
Two things worth knowing before you rely on it:
- It matches that exact question. Asked a different way, the bot may still answer from your other knowledge — which is why business-wide protection is the stronger tool of the two.
- If the same number lives in an uploaded file or another answer, it can still surface publicly from there. When nashir can see that, it tells you exactly which file or answer to check.
You can turn protection on directly from that screen with Turn on protection — no need to go looking for the setting.
